Protecting your personal data is important to us. We process your personal data confidentially and in accordance with statutory data protection regulations, in particular the Swiss Federal Act on Data Protection (DSG) and, where applicable, the European General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR), as well as this privacy policy.

This privacy policy applies to the website www.immersivelearningspace.ch and all related services and communication channels, such as email, contact forms, and newsletters.

3. Data We Collect

3.1 When Visiting Our Website

When you access our website, the web server automatically collects and stores the following technical data in server log files:

  • IP address of the requesting device (in shortened form)
  • Date and time of access
  • Name and URL of the retrieved file
  • Referrer URL (the previously visited page)
  • Browser and operating system used
  • Transferred data volume and HTTP status code

3.2 Contact Form

If you use our contact form, we collect the following data:

  • Name
  • Email address
  • Your area of interest (playgroup, compulsory school years, International Matura, other)
  • Content of your message

3.3 Newsletter

If you subscribe to our newsletter, we collect your email address and, where applicable, your name. The newsletter is sent on the basis of your explicit consent (Art. 6 para. 1 lit. a GDPR). You may withdraw your consent at any time by using the unsubscribe link in any newsletter or by contacting us directly.

3.4 Applications and Registrations

In connection with registrations for trial mornings, information events, or the admission of your child, we may process the following data:

  • Name and contact details of legal guardians
  • Name, date of birth, and school-related information of the child
  • Communication history

This data is used to ensure trouble-free website operation, improve our offering, and detect misuse. The legal basis is our legitimate interest pursuant to Art. 6 para. 1 lit. f GDPR and Art. 31 revDSG.

Data collected through the contact form is used exclusively to process your request and contact you. The legal basis is your consent (Art. 6 para. 1 lit. a GDPR) and our legitimate interest in responding to inquiries.

Processing data in connection with registrations is necessary for the performance of a contract or pre-contractual measures (Art. 6 para. 1 lit. b GDPR).

4. Cookies and Tracking

Our website may use technically necessary cookies required for website operation. These cookies do not contain personal data and are deleted after you close your browser. You can disable cookie storage in your browser, but this may restrict website functionality.

We currently do not use analytics, marketing, or third-party tracking cookies. If this changes, we will inform you in advance and obtain your consent.

5. Integrated Third-Party Services

5.1 Hosting and Technical Infrastructure

Our website is hosted and technically maintained by Pyango GmbH. As part of hosting, personal data, especially IP addresses, may be processed on servers. We have concluded a data processing agreement with our hosting provider pursuant to Art. 28 GDPR.

5.2 LinkedIn and YouTube

Our website contains links to our profiles on LinkedIn (LinkedIn Ireland Unlimited Company, Wilton Place, Dublin 2, Ireland) and YouTube (Google Ireland Ltd., Gordon House, Barrow Street, Dublin 4, Ireland). When you click these links, you leave our website. The privacy policies of the respective platforms apply.

5.3 Embedded Media

Videos and images embedded on our website may be provided from our own server (backend.immersivelearningspace.ch). No data is shared with third parties in this context.

6. Special Categories of Personal Data

Because we operate a private school, special categories of personal data relating to students may be processed as part of school operations, such as health data and learning reports. This is done exclusively on the basis of explicit consent from legal guardians or where necessary for fulfilling the education contract, and always in accordance with applicable law.

7. Disclosure of Data

We disclose your personal data only in the following cases:

  • With your explicit consent
  • If required to fulfil a contract
  • If we are legally obliged to do so, for example to authorities
  • To carefully selected processors that support our services, such as hosting providers, on the basis of a data processing agreement

We do not disclose your data to third parties for advertising purposes.

8. Retention Period

We store your personal data only for as long as necessary for the respective purposes or as required by statutory retention periods. Server log files are usually deleted automatically after 30 days. Contact inquiries are deleted after final processing unless a contractual relationship has arisen. Statutory retention periods applicable in the context of a school relationship remain reserved.

9. Your Rights

You have the following rights regarding your personal data:

  • Right of access: You may request information about the data we store at any time.
  • Right to rectification: You may request correction of inaccurate data.
  • Right to deletion: You may request deletion of your data unless statutory retention obligations prevent this.
  • Right to restriction of processing: You may request restriction of processing of your data.
  • Right to object: You may object to processing based on legitimate interests.
  • Right to data portability: You have the right to receive your data in a structured, commonly used format.
  • Right to withdraw consent: You may withdraw consent at any time with effect for the future.

10. Data Security

We take appropriate technical and organisational security measures to protect your data against unauthorised access, loss, misuse, or alteration. Our website uses an encrypted SSL/TLS connection for data transmission. Please note that data transmission over the internet, for example by email, may have security vulnerabilities.

11. Data Protection for Minors

Because we operate a school for children and young people, we place particular importance on protecting minors’ data. We collect and process personal data of children under 16 only with explicit consent from legal guardians. Legal guardians may request information about their child’s data or request its deletion at any time.

We reserve the right to amend this privacy policy at any time to keep it aligned with current legal requirements or to reflect changes to our services.
